Meet Black Matter

February 1, 2017by Bold Themes5

You asked for a stout, and now it’s here. Meet Black Matter, our Coffee Stout. This pretty lady is silky, delicious, and available for a limited time.

Our passion for coffee runs deep. So deep that if we weren’t in the beer business, we might would be in the coffee business. And when an opportunity to develop a breakfast-like ale (legal prevents us from using ‘breakfast’ and ‘stout’ next to each other, some trademark nonsense), we jumped at the chance to combine our two loves, coffee and beer.

Black Matter was initially developed for a Creative Mornings event, a breakfast lecture series for the creative community. If you’re not fortunate enough to have a Creative in your life (says the creative of our group), you probably don’t know that Creatives love coffee. And they have no problem with drinking beer at unusual hours, say for breakfast. So it only made sense that we design a coffee stout.

We made a few tweaks after the event, but we’ve remained true to the original recipe design. From first sniff to the finish, the coffee is evident, but not so evident that it is overpowering. You will also discover chocolate, cinnamon, and even a touch of vanilla in both the flavor and aroma. It has a full, silky body with medium carbonation.

Because Black Matter was developed for a breakfast meeting, why not stock your office conference room with a few growlers, or better yet, a keg?

Note: Black Matter is launching at the Henry’s Majestic Tap Takeover that kicks off Feb 21.  Come out for a pint!

Central Market in Southlake did not have Black Matter so I picked up the Hoppenheimer. Still have a few cans of the Half-Life on hand. Also, I agree fried chicken and bacon will go good with your IPA’s. Having homemade tacos tonight with the HOPP.

Love the names and the taste. Do love the stouts though and plan on picking up a dozen cans.

    Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the kind message, Chuck! Another amazing pairing with IPAs is carrot cake. It is oddly delicious!
