Celebrating 1 Year with Double Half-Life

November 10, 2017by Misty Sanford1

You guys, we’ve created the Goldilocks of IPAs. It’s not too bitter, not too sweet, and not too dry. It’s just right. It’s Double Half-Life, and it launches on 11/11, our one year anniversary.

The perfect IPA is quite the enigma. We have Hoppenheimer, our traditional West Coast IPA, that is a favorite among the hopheads. And we have Half-Life, our crushable NE IPA, that is so balanced and inoffensive that even the IPA haters out there enjoy it. Both are delicious, but we decided there’s room for one more IPA in our portfolio. One that is suited for both groups.

As you probably assumed, we started with the Half-Life recipe. When we launched it a year ago, the majority of the market had never heard of the NE style or tasted anything like it. And to be honest, designing this style was a bit serendipitous. In our amateur days, we set out to design a beer that we could drink all day and on any occasion. Turns out that beer is a NE IPA. Now that there are NE IPAs all over the local scene, it’s time to step up our game with another stab at the perfect IPA.

Our Goldilocks of beer is Double Half-Life. As the name implies, it has all the same characteristics of Half-Life, but more. It’s juicier, hazier, a little higher on the IBU, and definitely higher on the ABV at 8%. And yes, it is just as crushable.

We’re launching it at Index Fest this weekend, which happens to be the day of our one year anniversary. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the milestone than with a bigger version of the beer that put us on the map.

Cheers!
