Exclusive Coffee for Delayed Destination

October 28, 2022by Misty Sanford
Remember Delayed Destination, our coffee blonde? She’s back, and the coffee used in this variation is new to the United States! Lucky for us (and you), ViewFinder shared the entire lot shipped to the US with us!
The coffee, Finca Gascón, comes from one of the most famous regions in Guatemala. And Finca Gascón surpasses the hype of what Antigua has to offer. Jonah from ViewFinder had the fortunate opportunity to meet Felipe Contreras, the owner of Finca Gascón, on a trip to Guatemala. Felipe was supposed to have the day off but happened to pop by the shop when Jonah lingered around, hoping he would find him. From there, a partnership was formed to bring Felipe’s beans to the US.
Felipe is a first-generation producer and took charge of the farm in 2019. He set out to implement disruptive processes, which certainly include this offering. The coffee Jonah selected for Delayed Destination is a yeast-processed coffee (you’re probably familiar with washed, honey, and natural processes). In Felipe’s effort to disrupt and experiment with highly specialty processes, he adds yeast in the fermentation of the coffee cherries. Can you think of a more beautiful and appropriate addition to beer?!
Delayed Destination is on tap!
