When Will the Taproom Open?

Our taproom is delayed. Obviously. Or maybe it’s not obvious.

We initially hoped we would be opening later this month. And then in September. And finally we had our fingers crossed for our 2-year anniversary on 11/11. But that’s not going to happen either.

It’s not for a lack of effort. It’s that the city has a very special gift of complicating things to the nth degree. But I’ll save that conversation for another post. Or let me buy you a beer in exchange for me sharing my many thoughts about local politics and economic development.

We’re feeling impatient, but we’re okay with the delay. When we launched almost 2 years ago, we were pretty anxious about not having our own space. We thought we would miss out on too many opportunities to connect with customers. It turns out you don’t need a taproom. Sure, the extra revenue stream is pretty nice, but it’s not required.

Without a taproom, we’ve been able to connect with people that may have never heard of us. How? It motivated us to book as many events in bars and restaurants as possible. Our motto has been that if you can’t come to us, we will come to you.

And if you’ve attended any of our events, you know I’m not bashful about approaching a table of strangers and forcing them to taste one of our IPAs just because I promise it is different than all other IPAs in the market. Most people agree with me. The pleasant surprise has been that all of those small conversations and chance meetings got us exposure to non-beer folks that might actually order a beer now, which is pretty awesome.

I know that as soon as the taproom opens, I will miss being in the field for events. I mean, I currently get to go home when I’m tired of talking to people. That doesn’t happen when you’re hanging out in my house. Kidding… But it will be nice to host all of you very soon. And not to worry, the events all over town won’t come to an end. I just might have some support covering them.

This ended up turning into a bit of a ramble, but the point of this post was to say the taproom is coming. We WILL be open in Q1 2019.  And I’ll share the interior design boards soon.  That I can do without the city’s permission.  😉

So do you guys have a fully operational brewery now? if so, why don’t you just do like Franconia and NOT have a tap room? Just open once a week for “Brewery tours” and charge a few bucks for peeps to come out and “tour and drink”. Keeps your basic model you have going now and gets “new” people interested. And yes I know Franconia is currently building a tap room but they have been around 10+ years without one. Just sayin…………………would love to come out to the brewery, take a tour and hear the story. 🙂

We do not have a fully operational brewery yet. We have a lot of equipment that is waiting to be used as soon as we wrap up construction. We’re still brewing out of another facility, but we plan to be in our space in about 6 months.

Can’t wait to have you out!

Unfortunately no. The tornado set back inspections, so we had to move the date again. Rather than potentially missing again, we’re going to announce when we open and then plan an event after the doors are officially open.
