Our brewing team has a soft spot for Brettanomyces. There always seems to be an experiment with it on the 5-gallon setup. Our most recent is a petite saison competition amongst five teams. We’ve narrowed it down to two that will eventually hit the tap wall for a taste-off. But while we wait, we have a delicious farmhouse pale ale ready for you to imbibe.
MP0090, a farmhouse pale ale, uses Brettanomyces, specifically Brett C, to give it delightful complexity. The beer is tropical on the nose, with pineapple being most present. You will also pick up hay and a lovely earthiness with a slight farmhouse funk. As you sip and the beer warms slightly, the tropical fades, and nectarine begins to shine. Finally, a touch of cardamom spice wraps it up at the end.
