Introducing a new series, Charged Particles

April 6, 2021by Misty Sanford

We have a pretty extensive R+D process, which means we have a lot of beer that goes down the drain. But sometimes the beer is just too good to dump. It might not be 100% what we expected for a particular project, but it is a fine beer, and it should be consumed.

We’re introducing a new taproom series called Charged Particles. It is the beer we test before it becomes part of the Particles Collide lineup. PC blends different hops with each iteration, and sometimes it works well on the first couple of passes. And sometimes, we think it needs a few final adjustments to get the esteemed PC name.

It is unlike any hazy we’ve done in the past.
We all agree it is delicious, but it’s a bit out of character for us.

We used to keep Charged Particles on our secret taps in the back, but we decided we need to stop being so greedy. The first public release hits the tap wall today. It is unlike any hazy we’ve done in the past. We all agree it is delicious, but it’s a bit out of character for us. And it doesn’t quite fit in with the Particles Collide lineup.

Charged Particles is tropical on the nose with ripe mango and some juicy orange. Keep your nose in the glass a bit longer, and you will pick up a touch of dank. As you taste it, you will immediately notice how soft it is on the palate. There’s a touch of resin in the middle and then again in the finish. Bright grassy and ever so slightly spicy notes appear as the beer sits for a moment. I even detected slight minerality in the finish, but I might have been the only one.

It is a small batch because R+D only happens on the pilot system. Taproom only and no cans. You will have to enjoy it in our beer garden!
